I’m an author, coach, mindfulness teacher and speaker. I started my business, Total Balance in 2002 and over 16 years later, I’m lucky enough to still wake up every day to a business and life that I love.

My coaching style is insightful and practical

I’m a low-key kind of coach. I’ll help you feel motivated but not in a high-fiving ‘ra-ra’ kind of way. My approach is often described by clients as intuitive, practical and sometimes even spiritual. The work I value is in the fields of mindfulness, Positive Psychology, ACT, creativity, authenticity and neuropsychology (some of the authors I love are noted here).

How I help my clients

Mostly, I help people clarify what they want and believe in themselves enough to do what they love. I believe that everyone has a unique set of gifts to offer. I’m also passionate about teaching people to live more mindfully – when you’re grounded and calm, it’s easier to connect with your own version of a purposeful and meaningful life. In my personal life

Every day, I make time to do something I love (other than work). I meditate daily and exercise often. I walk, do yoga, write, take photos, garden, cook for my family and friends and hang out with Chris, my partner of over 30 years and our adult daughters. I love music, travel, good food, reading, learning and creating a beautiful home.

It’s also important to me to make a difference in a more significant way by contributing my time and a percentage of income to charity.

What I offer

  • Coaching: I offer one-on-one career, business, leadership and life coaching as well as intensive half-day discovery sessions.
  • Retreats: I run twice yearly retreats for women in Byron Bay and half-day workshops from my home on the Mornington Peninsula.
  • Speaking: I run mindfulness workshops and keynotes for organisations.

My books

In 2014 I fulfilled a lifelong dream of writing my first book, Believe in Yourself and Do What You Love. Since then, I’ve written three others, Be Mindful and Simplify Your Life, Change How You Think and Be Happier Now and Build Resilience and Free Yourself from Fear.  To date, over 110,000 copies have been sold and in 2017, two of the books were listed in the top-ten best-selling personal development books for the year. In 2019, Believe in Yourself will be released for sale in the US.

My credentials

I have gathered more than 5,000 hours of career, business and personal coaching experience and many hours of meditation teaching over the past 16 years. I was one of the first Australian coaches to achieve PCC accreditation with the International Coach Federation (ICF) in 2005 and one of the early teachers of ‘mainstream’ meditation in Melbourne.
