Work life balance & performance workshops for corporates
Our engaging and interactive workshops and keynotes look at issues that will improve your employees sense of work life balance and their performance at work. We also run stress management and work life balance workshops for the general public.

We help participants understand that they can create manageable and lasting change that will have an impact on their happiness and their productivity.

Recent research tells us that happy people are more engaged with their work, build better relationships with colleagues and clients, have less sick days and remain in a role longer. Our focus is on helping your employees understand that happiness is accessible and it can often be as simple as making a few minor changes to the way they manage their lives.

We offer one or two hour keynotes; full or half day workshops. We tailor a workshop specifically to meet your needs.

‘I engaged the services of Kate James in May last year. Prior to that, I had never heard of Kate and she was not referred to me by any colleagues for friends. I obtained her details via the internet. Making contact with Kate was one of the best decisions that I have made.

Initially Kate came and spoke to our Victorian team about work life balance. The audience consisted of approx 60 people. Male and female, aged from 22 to 65. The following divisions of our business were represented; administration, finance, sales, customer service, management and manufacturing. Kate’s ability to understand my brief and then to deliver in a personal, engaging and inclusive manner was a real highlight.

That first presentation was so well received (I formally sought feedback from all who attended) that I chose to engage Kate again later in the year to present again to my senior management team. This group consisted of both male and female (about twelve people in total). Again, Kate did not disappoint. Her presentation was highly effective and was very well received.

I have, in the past six months, forwarded Kate’s details on to a personal friend of mine who has been in contact with Kate and worked with her in recently. The results have been obvious and the benefits that Kate has provided have been remarkable.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Kate and her services to prospective clients – both businesses and individuals.

Should you require any more information or need clarification on my experience with Kate James, please contact me.’ Troy Jones, General Manager Vic & Tas, CSR Bricks and Roofing

‘Around a year ago, Kate James came to speak to my HR team of twelve people about Work Life Balance.  We are a mix of ages (20s to 60s), gender and at different stages of our lives.

We found Kate’s insights and ideas helpful and everyone enjoyed the time to focus on themselves and to consider the priorities they had and if these should change.

Within a few weeks almost everyone had taken some action to improve their well being, productivity or relationships.  This varied from enrolling in further study, starting an exercise program, joining a meditation class or simply reorganising their work space.’ Tricia Farnes, Associate Director – Human Resources, Holmesglen Institute of TAFE

‘Kate and the Total Balance Group have been an integral part of our health and wellness program within Aviva. Sessions including Managing Stress, Meditation and Work Life Balance have engaged our employees and created an awareness and understanding into the importance of maintaining one’s health, both mentally and physically. Kate’s warm and understanding nature combined with her passion and enthusiasm for these topics has ensured a continued successful program for our employees.’ Cliodhna Coughlan, HR Learning & Development, Aviva Australia

‘Kate, just a note to say a big thank you for the talk last night. The feedback was very positive and I think that we all took something away from it. Your style is great, with just the right balance of relaxed delivery without diminishing the importance of the material, and engaged the group throughout. I hope we can work together in the future.’ Brian Peters, Competency Executive, Terra Firma

‘Thank you for a very interesting and informative session you conducted at CitiPower/Powercor today. Work life balance sometimes seems a term that is quite hard to define, but you prompted lots of thought-starters for me. One thing I found vital – recognition that the balance can and does change frequently, depending on issues that are happening in either my work or private life. I hadn’t truly realised that before now. Thank you for putting so much of yourself into the presentation – it makes it so much more interesting.’  Executive Assistant to General Manager Human Resources & Corporate Affairs, Powercor/CitiPower
