It's not just about creating calm – for me, the greatest gifts have been learning about my thoughts, my emotions, how I carry tension in my body and how I breathe. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It is also a reminder of the incredible power of coming back to the present moment. To remember to be grounded and centred when my thoughts want to take me everywhere other than 'here'.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I'm easing my way back into work this week and as I'm easing my way back into work this week and as I do every January, today I'm spending time planning the year ahead (it makes the world of difference working in this beautiful spot!).

There are so many things I want to find time for so my biggest challenge always is what to leave off the list. Something that really helps with this is creating a longer-term vision for my life, so I know that eventually, I'll find time for all of the things that I love.

I’ve always been something of a worrier. My mother used to say to me, “you think too much.” And I do. I’m not sure I’ll ever completely change this about myself but I’ve found two things that help me manage worry most - meditation and time in nature.

Last week, Chris and I spent four beautiful days at Wilsons Prom, hiking and soaking up the beauty and magic of this place. I switched my phone off and let myself just be in the present moment. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Sometimes it’s not possible to get away from it all for a few days but we can usually disconnect from technology and reconnect with nature without too much trouble. ⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It’s one of the simplest ways to connect with a bigger perspective and to find your way back to peace. ✨🌿☀️
